While his parents have been desperately wiping away the family’s Jewish past, Zachmann explores his identity in France by making a film on his parents and the French Jews. Mainly through filming his father, Zachmann looks at his family’s traumatic past in Auschwitz’s Nazi concentration camp for the first time.
